Hi,

When a map (geo) and a list of records are displayed together there is no correlation between a particular record and which marker on the map it relates to.

Is there a way to automatically open the marker info window so that users will know which record the marker is showing.

Thanks,

Dale.

PS. Adding something like this somehere? ... infoWindow.open(map, marker);?

Hi,

I ws just throwing this out there as an idea for correlationo records lists and pins on the map.

I'm thinking that a lot of open info windows will make the nice maps very crowded though.

Maybe another solution might be that in the lists, there's a number (1) next to the record and this number is overlayed onto the map marker?

Maybe another nice feature would be that when a user clicks onto the (1) next to the record the map centers itself on the pin for the record.

Thanks,

Dale.

Agree. Good ideas and suggestions ;)
FYI - my related topic. Hence the features of "Geommunity" and "Wordpress example" in comments:

Map Template - Location & Address - Avatar or Image as Map Markers (and more...)

Here's an idea for you ...

This implementation may be a lot easier than changing markers, but it will provide a link and reference point between the records list and the map.

click_centre_on_map

Thanks,

Dale.

Hi,

Another thought is to maybe 'zoom in' a bit when the button is clicked.

This would be good as there may be less confusion at which marker is in the centre if there are many markers in the view.

Thanks,

Dale.
