If personalization is on in section parameters, each user has own "home page" where user can see his pages. Other users can see this page too. If you wont to show article off another user on your home page you use repost. Its like share on facebook, show other materials on your feed.

I'm not sure, but Sergey sad that we have all integrations with joomsocial.
