Hello, just a gentl request for a better backend experience. I always wondered about the missing menu items... new users might be confused about missing items:

Suggestions

  • add complete set of cobalt menuitems (as seen in sidebar menu)
  • Shorten last menuitem to common term like: help OR support
  • follow J! core backend design with icomoon webfont

Pretty UI makeup mockups ;)

FYI - Regarding forum (cobalt) fulltext search...

It was really difficult to find my own topic! I even knew 2 important keywords from the title. i.e. menu, backend But I found this topic by accident ... and stubborn manual searching through the results/pages.

menu backend was found and listed around 250 of 386 results. (I set display to 100 items/page! Otherwise I would have searched for ages)

+menu +backend was result 21. At least on the first result page. But just a few items had the term menu in its title! I still think the "title" have to have a much higher priority and weight. Or it should be possible to search it only? Ideally with AJAX.

Same results if I switch the order of both terms.

BTW, how would you search for a "phrase" with multiple terms? i.e. find exact matches of "backend menu"

I'll see what I can do with search in Cobalt 9.

pepperstreet I really do suggest to use the more modern approach (icon webfonts). I mean, almost anyone makes use of it. The pixel era is over, IMHO. Especially for dashboards and UI's.

I agree and we will use it. but we will include our own font for it.

Fontello may use all of FonAwesome, IcoMoon and other all in one time.

Cool.

FYI - This would be uber-awesome for Cobalt Templates, Fields and Config.
