(Already mentioned in this E8 topic)

It would be nice to have a sort of invoice or receipt for payments. I know, online payments may produce a PDF or email, but they may have a crytic description or format. A customizable layout which suits the site and content is much better. Also there is Offline or Bank transfer, which does not produce any written evidence or receipt. i.e. local sports-club membership or optional products/plans.

Possible formats: - PDF (needs PDF lib/creator) - Custom page for print (Component View?)

Possible solutions: - re-incarnate Mighty Invoice/Bill ? - integrating existing extensions like... :

A.)JoomlaThat Invoices! (now called Invoice Manager)

B.) HeadsUp: There is another another InvoiceManager with the same name/title.

C.) ccInvoices

The JoomlaThat and ChillCreations products look pretty good. Maybe you can collaborate with them? Bundle or Discount price with Emerald and/or Cobalt etc. ;-)

ChillCreations seems to have an extendable [PLACEHOLDER] template system. Maybe interesting to have Cobalt fields or Emerald Plan infos there as well.

Thanks for listening.

EDIT:

BTW, i am aware of the many different requirements in different countries, different needs and laws. In general, I am speaking of a simple common format as a starting point. A solid basis that might be extended for any special need. Would be nice, if the system allows customization or add-ons i.e. digital signed PDF.

Answer from tax administration office:

If I as a seller am VAT registered and I'm selling service outside my country but inside EU to another company that is VAT registered then** I don't add VAT** to Invoice because the company that I'm selling to has to do some kind of "self taxation" in their own country.

If I as a seller am VAT registered and I'm selling service outside my country but inside EU to another company that is not VAT registered then I add VAT to invoice (same goes for individuals).

What if you are not VAT registered inside UE and sell to VAt registered or not registered? Is it possible to be legal to give invoices being VAT not registered?

FOr example I am doing "Are you VIES registered?" Parameter as for admin as for every user. For example admin set that his company is not VIES registered. Is there any sense show this parameter to buer?

In my country I have to be VAT registered to sell to foreign countries.

There are again 2 options.:)

  1. I can be "fully VAT" registered which means:

-I add VAT for all invoices inside my country

-I add VAT to all invoices to foreign countries for compaines that are NOT included in VAT system and for individuals

-I don't add VAT to foreign companies that are included in VAT system.

  1. I can be VAT registered just for invoicing to other countries which means:

-I don't add VAT to invoices inside my country

...the other 2 I think are the same as before.

But somebody else should confirm this before you do anything?!?

FOr example I am doing "Are you VIES registered?" Parameter as for admin as for every user. For example admin set that his company is not VIES registered. Is there any sense show this parameter to buer?

Well, if company (buyer) is VAT registered (in VIES system) and is foreign company than if it check that is VAT registered it should substract TAX from invoice. If is not VAT registered than add TAX.

But you can do 2 inputs. One for country code and one for tax number. And if client selects country code that means he is registered. But there should be some validation behind it.

What if

Inside EU cases

1) You are VAT registered and buyer is VAT registered but you are in the same country?

Outside EU cases

2) You are VAT registered and buyer is not VAT registered but outside of EU?

3) You are not VAT registered and buyer is not VAT registered but outside of EU?

4) You are VAT registered and buyer is VAT registered but outside of EU?

5) You are not VAT registered and buyer is VAT registered but outside of EU?

I think that for companies outside EU is the same.

1) You are VAT registered and buyer is VAT registered but you are in the same country?

In my country (Slovenia, EU) you add tax.

1) You are VAT registered and buyer is VAT registered but you are in the same country?

You are VAT registered and buyer is not VAT registered but outside of EU?

You add tax, not 100%.

1) You are VAT registered and buyer is VAT registered but you are in the same country?

You are VAT registered and buyer is not VAT registered but outside of EU?

You are not VAT registered and buyer is not VAT registered but outside of EU?

For selling to foreign companies in my country you have to be VAT registered.

FYI - Spain - Explanation on a spanish J! developer site.

Prices do not include VAT.

If you are a resident of a country outside the EU, will not be charged VAT.

If you are a resident of a country in the EU, you will be charged 21% VAT over the prices shown if your VAT number is not VIES-registered. Will not be charged VAT if your VAT number is VIES-registered.

(When filling the subscription form, if you are a business, we will consult the VIES database, and will add the 21% VAT over the price if your VAT number is not registered in VIES.)

For residents in Spain, prices will always increase by 21% in VAT.
