I make my first steps with Cobalt (following your tutorial) but I get on frontpage this error always:

Error Config not found: ..\com_cobalt\configs\default_cindex_cobalt7.5adbaf23903c54a89277fd2cfc95251a.json

My settings: PHP Built On Windows NT NBKUK 6.1 build 7601 (Windows 7 Business Edition Service Pack 1) i586 Database Version 5.5.38 Database Collation utf8_general_ci PHP Version 5.4.30 Web Server Apache WebServer to PHP Interface apache2handler Joomla! just create a new empty file "default_cindex_cobalt7.5adbaf23903c54a89277fd2cfc95251a.json" in configs folder and error will gone !

Did you install any pack? That may be also because this folder is unwritable. Try in the section you created, edit template parameters for Category Index.

Creating the empty file works (but why is this necessay?). I got the error back when changing the template because the folder is unwritable. So what is the deeper sense?

Every time you save configuration of template, the file is created. So you have to make sure that this folder is writable, otherwise you will not be able to remember your template settings.
