Hi,

Forgive me for probably a silly question, but I can't work this out at all.

When I assign an author to a record, and the author logs in and tries to edit record, no form is displayed, just the rather cryptic message:

"Error No permissions"

I do have emerald installed, but this doesn't seem like an emerald error message that I have seen in the settings there.

Thanks,

Dale.

Thanks.

It's more than likely a settings issue ... do you have any quick tips on how I could find where the issue is?

Ta.

Dale.

Would it likely be emerald or core cobal problem? It's strange that the error messge is not very specific. Dale.

Not sure if this will help or not, but here's further information for something I've noticed:

a) When admin is logged in, and the 'gear icon' is clicked to edit the record the url destination is ...

http://www.myurl.uk/uk/edit/18-title-of-record?return=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5wdWJ1dG9waWEudWsvdWs=

(hover is http://www.myurl.uk/uk?task=form.edit& ;id=18:title-of-record&return=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5wdWJ1dG9waWEudWsvdWs=)

and all is OK.

b) When the author of the record is logged in, the 'gear icon' is clicked the url destintation is ...

http://www.myurl.uk/component/users/?return=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5wdWJ1dG9waWEudWsvdWsvZWRpdC8xOC1ib3dsaW5nLWdyZWVuLWhvdGVsP3JldHVybj1hSFIwY0RvdkwzZDNkeTV3ZFdKMWRHOXdhV0V1ZFdzdmRXcz0=

(hover is http://www.myurl.uk/uk?task=form.edit& ;id=18:title-of-record&return=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5wdWJ1dG9waWEudWsvdWs=)

and the record is not shown and the "Error No permissions" is displayed.

Thanks,

Dale.

  1. Try to turn off SEF and see if everything works. If works then we have to look for problem in SEF
  2. Check your parameter who can edit in the type.

Hi,

Thanks for the help.

1. Problem still exists with turning SEF OFF in Joomla SEO config

2. In the type, the setting is ... Form - Author can edit - YES

Dale.

Give me admin access. I'll try to locate the problem. Also give me the link with list of articles.

You have set in type parameters, who can submit to Super user. User what you give is registered, that why no permission. If you set Registered then all will work fine.
