Make a field with a value that applies to all records (existing and new)

Hi,

I wish to create a field that has same HTML value at all times for all records.

I created a HTML field and assigned a default value, but it seems that the default value is only applied to new records, not existing ones.

My reason for doing this is to show some facebook like code on each record - it will be the same code for all records.

I want to do it with a field only and do not want to alter templates.
