Cobalt config has this options.

Google map API Key is required for what kind of operations? I mean... i can see the Google map field on the records without inserting values into this field.

Community integration having Joomla, CB and Jomsocial. What is this for?

Google map API Key

This is for geo field. Actually although it works Google now require Google map API key to be there. And sooner or later on day 1 all maps without this key wil stoop working.

For CB it simply shows avatar and link to profile in CB. For JS it makes a little bit more. It shos avats, link to profile, link to send private message.
