I am looking at migrating a website from Akeeba Subscriptions to Emerald 9.

The site in question is www.elephanttrust.org

The site uses HikaShop for payment processing.

What are the steps for such a migration, and what data may be lost in the process?

The proces of update would be

  1. Install Emerald
  2. Install Hikashop action
  3. Read Quick Start and setup Emerald and prepare to work.
  4. Open Emerald control panel and then go to imports.
  5. Select Akeebasubscriptions, and click IMPORT

Now Emerald migrated all it could to Emerald. You will surely migrate subscriptions history and pluns. If it find possible invoices too, if not it can generate new invoices on demand. It might also import coupons if those will be compatible. Of course you will lose some features that Akeeba had and Emerald doesn't. But i am sure those are not very muvh significant.

  1. After that you have to edit each plan and configure it. Plans will be create based on your AkeebaSub plans, but they wil be empty. no restrictions or anything else. You will have to reconfigure plans totally. To enable payment through Hikasop, you will have to add action to each plan that will bind current plan to Hikashop product. You can add few actions and bind same plan to few Hikashop products.

That is it in short.
