Overwrite com_emerald template files

I've tried to copy/paste (with same folder structure) template file com_emerald/views/emlist/tmpl/default_list_table.php in my custom template html folder but nothing chages.

Is this not possible at all or am I doing something wrong?

Yes you can copy templates with name default_list_*.php where * is the name of your template. Now in group parameters select this template.
