This is more like a request, not an idea.

I need a field that responsible for reading visitor's country and redirect to a version of the article designated to that country.

My articles has variations of the content based on the country . NOT based on language.

Filed:

Country Specific Version - Yes - NO

if Yes - select Country( s) accepted on this page ( no forwarding needed) Example: Russia. Mongolia, Timbaktu

If Yes - select 1 or more country( from the list) ( Example: USA, Canada, Australia, New Zeland)

      - Select article version/ or place forwarding URL manually

If Yes, - Select other country ( from the list) ( Example: China, Tailand)

         - Select article version/ or place forwarding URL manually

Here is alternative approach:

Make a field / module/ plugin ttaht redirect INCOMMING link to the particular article to country specific page.

And here is a webservise that redirect incomming links. See Demo:

To me this would be not a field but Joomla plugin. This plugin see if we read Cobalt article in special section, we compare article according to IP country (Good у already have IP database) and then it redirects to correct country.

We can do this. But first you have to setup your section. We have to see hat is country field ID. What you use Address field or select and so on..
