everybody knows joomla template is an important part of SEO strategy but who can tell me what template providers meet both seo and cobalt compatibility

Because K2 is "just" an extended com_content. The basic structure is not really different to a Joomla article. K2 default layouts have a pre-made, solid appearance. Nothing fancy or changeable. i.e. there is also 1 main HTML content area, plus the ExtraFields Block. This block is displayed in one piece, always at the bottom. Its a simple unordered-list. Overall simple and predictable. There is only one big CSS file for everything. There is no advanced search and filter area.

That facts make it relatively easy to "support" it and make it fit into a certain J! template.

BTW, compatibility is the wrong term. Cobalt can be used in (almost) any template and template framework. But it might need visual adjustment and customization, if you want exactly the same look and feel. This applies to any other specialized extension or module.
