image field: where is max upload file size being taken ?

so does the field take this value fomr joomla media settings automatically?

This field takes PHP parameter for max upload size. Check PHP settings in Joomla system info. Usually it is 2Mb by default.

BTW maybe it would be useful to ahve the possibility to set max upload size in the field settings (just like in gallery field)
