This week we are going to publish Cobalt on JED. It will take at least one week to get approved. During that week we will make final fixes and after this we intend to release the stable version of Cobalt.

There is a need for additional people in our small Cobalt community to provide new ideas, concepts and experiences.

Cobalt is and will ever be a product heavily influenced by your input. We listen to your requests and try to implement them as much as possible to shape a product which can excel in all aspects of modern web based application development.

We do not expect much but at least something has to come out of this event. I am sure you all miss more supportive people on the forum. Every one will benefit if our community will grow with more people using Cobalt.

This is our integration priority list

Still our first priority will be fixing errors and bugs in Cobalt 7. But it will not take much time. I think of one persons, 3-5 hours a week. Probably me :)

We are going to split Cobalt developers in 2 groups. One group will start massive development of Cobalt 8 with new features. And another group will start developing integrations with other extensions.

You already know what will be in the Cobalt 8. See my recent posting road map. But there are some very cool, breathtaking features that I have not posted in that roadmap. Let me surprise you :)

Here our integration list:

  1. JomSocial
  2. CommunityBuilder
  3. Xmap
  4. RokSprocket

We will first focus on them, but others will follow. Any suggestions?

There will be another separate, dedicated person who will produce packs like forum, gallery, downloads, … A person, more focused on HTML/CSS rather than PHP.

Conclusion

You can expect some cool additions be released soon and new people joining our community.
