Hey,

I can't find an option to order my articles manually in the category list.

I want to order them in the corresponding category like I did on my old/current website (done with mighty resources/J1.5)

Hidden text

As you can see I have two categories, each of them containing about 15-20 articles working as a time schedule. I have to change the order quite often.

I can change the order of fields, of the categories but not in the record view. Neither in the backend, nor in the frontend. Any suggestions?

I'm also missing some sort of "multi-edit" option for the fields like the one in mighty resources so I can select like 10 articles and change their category or a certain field value. That was very useful.

Any suggestions?

Thx

Unfortunately there is no suggestions regarding this. There is not article ordering in Cobalt so far. And no mass change too. :)

"Mass change" was very handy, IMHO. Do you implement it in a future release of Cobalt?

It is one of the tasks for Cobalt 9. But road map features first and then if we have time we do this.

Manual Sorting order: I did not convert my Resources project, yet. But it is planned for this year. I totally missed, that there is no manual order like it is for J! core articles? Why can´t you use this dragNdrop feature?

Because records may be in few categories. We will do it. I'll try to place a task for Cobalt 9.

Why do categories have an impact on the manual order? IMHO, its just a backend/manager property for each article. Something like an additional "weight" or "#". Any other criteria does't matter.

Right but article may be in difefrent categories and have a different way in each category. In one category it is 3d and in other category itis 23th

Maybe you have to add one?

IN ALL CASES THIS NUMBER IS KEPT IN THE SAME TABLES LIKE IN CATEGORIES, FIELDS, GROUPS, ...

But with records this number should be saved in js_res_record_category table instead of js_res_record. i cannot explain other words. The problem is that one record may have few numbers.

Another issue, how to set the initial ordering in your list view. Would be nice to select and use this field as section default order.

Any news on this?
