here everybody want cobalt cck become better with each version sometimes it could be useful to see what competitor are doing here you are http://www.joomshaper.com/page-builder a kind of cck, i like the visual page compozer but what i like more it is the addons features : http://www.joomshaper.com/blog/sp-page-builder-pro-stable-version-is-readyfur maybe for a futur version of cobalt, it could be a good example ? it's not cck is just article or page builder for static pages.

Yes, a page builder is not comparable to a CCK, which deals with different "content types".
Anyways, I got your basic idea about an interactive template-builder or even a type/form-constructor.

A.) The current page-builders and template frameworks (T3, JSN, HELIX, PLAZART) are a good source and it might be possible to utilize one of them... so, it is not necessary to build everything from scratch. Only Cobalt fields have to be added. If Cobalt9+ is going to get in this direction, it should probably store the "positions" and "fields" in a JSON file. Then this file could be parsed instead of the usual "field loop"... etc.

B.) I would also like a much simpler/lighter approach like in FlexiContent or ZOO.

C.) Also like the idea of a general All-Purpose-Template like Seblod "Seb-One" with default positions.
