I know plugin would be great. But problem is that most of all you will not like how it look or what data is shown or lack some data. So you will need to edit template anyway. And hide some fields or add other fields.

BTW you can ask http://www.extly.com to make Profile plugin field for Cobalt.

I 'am thinking why do not create a module author, very similar to the great article participant module , it would detect author of record and would show several options : 1 section "my blog,", 1 access link to jomsocial profil, etc

idea of module is very good, but anyway more jomsocial fields in profil is a must have
