I remember URL PLUS field in ME Resources had this versatile input mask. So, submissions could be reduced to simple and important "keywords"... I liked it!
1.) Would you consider to add this options again?
Since COBALT is different..., can it be achieved by output and input templates?
Just for reference - Screenshot of ME Resources field parameters:
2.) Cobalt has just two simple "open URL in..." options.
Could you add a Lightbox feature? J! core or one of Cobalt installation. Maybe this is also a field template feature ?!
