Section parameters "How many records to this section user can submit" is very useful for many applications.

Is it possible to have extended restrictions and possibilities like:

  • certain J! usergroups get different max. submissions
  • certain Subscribers/Plans get different max. submissions

PS: Currently, I am not so firm in Members/Emerald8 features. Please, have mercy if I am stating an existing workflow here ;-)

Official Answer

I would say that it is already possible. You can restrict number of submission based on subscription plan user has.

And soon we plan to add user group change on new plan activation and deactivation.

Since J!25 has new ACL/groups ... doesn't it make sense to utilize this feature as much as possible? I mean, in addition or even as a replacement for membership groups. Groups in both products seem a bit redundant to me.

As far as i can see, this feature is still hidden in the "not recommended adv dev mode". And the tooltip says: only upgrade to a user group. Does it mean i can not "revoke" or downgrade?

It is not possible to trigger a usergroup change on plan-expiration?
