C7 - Tags - input and GUI like AutoComplete fields ?
Please, read Comments area with several ideas and thoughts.
Sergey's new tags project for Cobalt9 on GitHub. See Demo in action.
EDIT: Summary of feature requests for Tags component and frontend display.
- Tags overview/index page as menu item
Would be cool to have a tags menuitem type. Or extended Tags module. Something that allows to generate a tags overview. Maybe with A-Z grouping, popularity, latest etc.
e.g. http://stackapps.com/tags
- Pre-Defined Tags, Tag-Sets per section or type
Also like the idea to have a list of PRE-DEFINED tag terms. Good for equal and more precise tags. Working-modes: Suggest only created terms of current user; of pre-defined section tags, free tagging
e.g. K2, Drupal taxonomy
- Input placeholder text, visual help
In general, AutoComplete fields benefit of a visual hint or inline text. A single + icon graphic is not enough for an average enduser. Something like three dots "...+" or a text hint "type here..." or "add new..." is easier to understand.
