I have a problem when I change the author of a record, when I do it, I can't edit the record with the new author, it says I have no permissions to edit.

I'm doing this beacuse I want to allow comments in the records just for special group users and authors. The idea is every record can ve commented (and view comments) ONLY for admins and the author of the record. authors of other records can't see comments in others authors records.

Any ideas?

Why do you change author of the record? How do you do that by the way?

What is the edit parameter?

Create new articles with new parameter.

Not working.

  1. This is how I did it:
  2. 2 users involved: admin1 and user1
  3. admin1 created a new record (Good)
  4. admin1 can see comments (Good)
  5. user1 can not see comments (Good)
  6. admin1 change the author of the record to user1 (Good)
  7. user1 still can not see comments (Bad)
  8. now user1 has the option to edit record (Bad)
  9. user1 clicked on the edit botton
  10. get a error message saying: Error, No permissions (Bad)

Where is my error?

The idea: comments are only available for the author of the record and users in admin group (See comments and post comments both)

  1. Indeed. User cannot see comments. I added some change to next release of Cobalt.
  2. User see edit button of article or comment? If article then configure parameter in type parameters submission tab "Who can edit". Will be applied to new articles.
