Show subcategory results when filtering parent category

Does Cobalt has an option to filter category and given result are also from subcategory? So if I have category "Cars" and subcategories "Volvo", "BMW", "Renault",... is it possible to display records from subcategories when choosing "Cars" in filter module?

No, because category filter is special. It only works if you filter mode is through all section. That means that wa cannot use hierarchy anymore. Otherwise we wil have to immediately show all records even if category not applied.

And that is why when we use category as a filter we can select multiple categories. That can solve problem if user whant to see result from few cateogries.

Not at all. If you want to use BMW as fields then car should be also field. Because what is the beaning of BMW in the other category.

But in general you are on the right track. You can use multilevel select filed and move holw your categories there. Car and BMW. Then it will be posible to select car and see all of articles in the car.
