can Emerald integrate with virtuemart e-commerce to sell product subscribtions.

No. But Emerald can work with Hikashop. Also perhaps I could create Virtuemart integration on request with additional payment.

Depending what you need. If you need same integration like Hikashop, so that you can sell subscription with Virtuemark products, then $50.

But keep in mind there will be no support for recurring paiments.

It does not support recurring payment either. This is due to nature of Hikashop payment gateways. Sinse you pay through Hikashop's of VM's payment gateway, this feature have to be supported by HS or VM and not by Emerald.
